Chloë's 8th birthday

Here's my latest LO ... don't be shocked, I know, it doesn't look the least like the first one I showed you ... I should have warned you in my first post: I don't have a scrapping style whatsoever!!!!!!! I just go where the pictures or my mood at the moment take me ...

These are some pictures of my daughter's bowling party we threw for her and her friends from school for her 8th birthday. She and her friends had a wonderful time!! My son, featured on the right page making a silly face, wasn't too thrilled I used this picture of him ... he thought he looked silly. Now you have to know, he always acts like this when I take out my camera, it's like he's just not capable of acting normally when a camera is around, I practically have to beg him if I want half a decent picture ... he doesn't seem to understand yet that he in fact is in charge of how he looks on pics LOL ... sounds familiar to anyone?????

The quality of the pictures we took inside the bowling centre wasn't all that great because of the poor light, so I decided to create a very busy LO, trying to mask the poor quality of the pics, and reflecting the busy atmosphere of the party. And it turned out busy enough don't you think LOL?

I only used cardstock, my scissors and my coloring pens and some chalk for the border for this LO. Back to basics you might say, but in this case, I think it works!

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas, and I wish you a very Happy New Year full of love, friendship, good health and continued scrappin' creativity!

I did it!

I finally did it, I made a blog ... now what will I use this for??? Occasionally I guess I'll write something about my life, just for me to remember some important dates, some kind of journal, but most of all I will be using this to show the LO's I make. I was a bit hesitant at first, I've only been scrapping a few months, and I still have so much to learn, but I figured there are a lot of beginners like me, who like to learn new techniques without feeling overwhelmed by the gorgeous LO's posted all over the net. So I'll be sharing the techniques I've learned so far, easy ones with don't require too much skill LOL.

I'm not going to upload all my LO's, though at the rate I create there aren't that many ... If you are interested, you can visit my gallery at scrapbook.com here

This is my personal favorite so far:

This is my daughter Chloë, happily posing, one of my girls' favorite pasttimes... lucky me LOL!!! Although I have to say, I love the bottom picture the best ... she didn't know I took that one, I told her to wait for a minute while I was doing something else, so she stopped posing ... and that turned out to be my personal favorite of the shoot!

Not much mystery about the how-to of this LO: I distressed the papers with my scissors and I added a doily of which I inked the edges red. The title and tree branch were made out of a cereal box and inked with several brown tints. I drew and cut out the bird, and chalked the edges of its body and the entire wings. The flowers were cut out of pattern paper. I then drew leaves on both sides, which I stitched. I love stitching on paper, it's so easy and it just adds that something extra to a LO.
